Idea Flux

Got an Idea for a nifty little project called the TI-Daniel. (Sue me Texas Instruments.) I’ll keep you all posted, but basically I am going to attempt to create a simple little calculator running on a handful of op amps and potentiometers. I am going to need to get the supplies obviously, but it might come out pretty sweet. Basically it will be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, integrate and differentiate. (Will work on squaring as well.) However it is definitely not going to be the most simply thing to use, but I am going to try my best. This might become my winter project as I am not going to have time over the semester. However I will get a nifty circuit schematic up here sometime soon and keep you guys posted. :)

Facebook is down so I goggled it out of curiosity to see if it was some scheduled maintenance or something. I get an article talking about how it is down, but there being no reason for it. Good part of the article was the “be the first of your friends to like this on facebook” thing on the left hand side. It’s amazing how much facebook has taken over the daily lives of people.

I need to shave. It is just I hate the process of shaving. Waking up in the morning and then after I shower the last thing on I want to do is shave. My mission today after my 3 hour lab is to shave. What am I going to do if I ever get a job with a facial hair code? That would suck.

On another note. I had another wtfwiki? moment today. I wound up just clicking around and after basically coming to the conclusion I have a minor case of navel fetishism as I just like to poke my girlfriend’s belly button all the time and not an extreme case as wikipedia claims exist where people partake in navel torture for arousal purpose. Which alone is wtf? I came across Smegma (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smegma). This article could have been much better off without a picture. 

I really need to learn how to type a bit softer. I type so loudly and I feel like everyone in the library is bothered by it. However, I am sitting near nobody at the moment as not to many people are in the library at 11am on a Monday. I love sitting in the library though. I have this one little desk on the fourth floor that is mine, and I get absolutely depressed if someone is in it. It has in my opinion the best view in which I can see up north to the empty rural upstate New York with farmlands and lakes or I can look the south and see Albany and the few tall skyscraper style buildings that are cluttered together in the small urban area. If I look straight ahead I see Troy, which is not the greatest of all places but from this angle has this cool view and reminds you of one of those small towns you see in the movies. Here is a picture so I don’t look crazy. Though you can’t really see the north or south as all I have is my phone and not my good camera.

I’ve had a ton of work to do over the past week or so, however it has just been so difficult to get back into the swing of things. Thank god the US Open ends today or I might never get back into my working habits. After spending most of my past two weeks watching tons and tons of tennis I need to transition into doing all my work I have been procrastinating. It feels like I just returned and exams are all ready right around the corner. I’m very excited for this year however sometimes I just wish college was all ready over and I all ready had a job. Schoolwork is not the best of all things and I would rather be paid to do some than pay to learn to how to do something. Well at least if I keep my act together I’ll be able to finish up a semester early and start on my masters or something. So I’m off now to do a bit of work. Check out some empty bookshelves!

So I have survived week 1 of my first semester. A couple of minor incidents made things a bit interesting but everything is going pretty well. The workload is luckily light at the moment but it won’t remain that way for long. Today most of my afternoon was wasted doing some stupid questions for economics. I have learned it seems to be when all else fails for economics simply write “supply and demand” and then some stupid explanation. It works, for everything. No really trust me it does. 

I must say it is so nice to have a couch in my apartment. I come home and just can relax on a couch for other reason. It’s a great couch as well, super soft and comfortable. I’ve taken numerous naps on it all ready when I have the opportunity and it’s nearly as comfortable as my bed. It is also more convenient as being my bedroom is upstairs, which is a new experience for me as well. Not only do I have my own bedroom, I actually have two floors. I kind of want to take my little apartment with me wherever I go. Just if I brought it with me there would be some air conditioning. 

Oh yea so I guess since I am at school I should talk about school. Well my four classes have been pretty good so far. Multi Variable Calculus has been interesting but my professor is out there and really theoretical. So it will be very interesting. I’m very excited for my Embedded Control class, programming some microprocessors and we are going to get to make like a game and fly a blimp. So I’m pretty stoked and hopefully will have some interesting videos/pictures to post. Circuits is interesting and useful but is going to be very difficult I feel. I am going to have to brush up on my differential equations. Oh and economics surprising seems like it might have the heaviest workload just because it is going to be a lot of reading and tedious question answering.
